Community Guidelines
Last Updated: September 19, 2026
Flyover Sports is the local sports bar in your pocket. Team Threads, polls, and reactions exist so Carolina fans can talk trash, celebrate, vent, and argue about the teams we love — with each other, not at each other. These Guidelines explain what's welcome, what isn't, and what happens when someone crosses the line. They are part of our Terms of Use.
The short version: Be a fan, not a jerk. Argue about the game, not the person. Don't post things you don't have the right to post. If you see something that breaks these rules, report it — we review reports and act on objectionable content within 24 hours.
1. What's welcome
- Hot takes, game reactions, predictions, and friendly rivalry banter
- Questions, recommendations (creators, podcasts, bars, tailgates), and local knowledge
- Links to articles, videos, and posts from their original sources
- Disagreement — respectfully, and about the sports
2. What's not allowed
Harassment and hate
No personal attacks, bullying, threats, or intimidation toward other users, athletes, coaches, officials, journalists, or anyone else. No slurs, hate speech, or content that demeans people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other characteristic. Rivalry is fine; dehumanizing people is not.
Violence and dangerous content
No threats or glorification of violence, no encouraging self-harm, and no content that endangers anyone's safety.
Sexual content
No pornography, sexually explicit content, or sexualized content involving anyone under 18. Keep it PG-13.
Privacy and impersonation
Don't share anyone's private information (home address, phone number, personal accounts, photos taken without consent) or content about private individuals without their permission. Don't impersonate players, coaches, teams, reporters, other users, or Flyover Sports staff, and don't claim an affiliation you don't have.
Copyright and other people's content
Only post content you created or have the right to share. That means no reposting full articles, paywalled content, full-length videos, broadcast clips, or photos you don't own — link to the original instead. Repeat copyright violations will get your account terminated. See our Copyright & DMCA Policy.
Gambling
Flyover Sports is bet-free. No sportsbook promotions, referral codes, picks-for-sale, "locks," or links to betting, daily-fantasy-for-money, or wagering services of any kind.
Spam and self-promotion
No spam, repetitive posting, scams, referral links, or unsolicited advertising. Creators are welcome to share their own work occasionally when it's relevant to the thread, but the community isn't a billboard.
Illegal activity
Nothing that violates the law or encourages others to break it.
Off-topic and disruptive behavior
Team Threads are for that team. Keep politics, religion, and other unrelated debates out of them. Don't brigade, flood threads, evade a ban with a new account, or interfere with the app.
3. Reporting and blocking
- Report a post or user. Tap the menu on any post or profile and choose Report. Tell us why. You can also email support@flyoversportsapp.com with a screenshot or link.
- Block a user. Tap the menu on their post or profile and choose Block. You won't see their content anymore and they won't be able to interact with you.
- What happens next. We review every report. Content that violates these Guidelines is removed — usually within 24 hours of being flagged — and the account that posted it may be warned, suspended, or ejected depending on the severity and history. We may also use automated filters to catch slurs, spam, and prohibited links before they're posted.
4. Enforcement
We enforce these Guidelines at our discretion. Depending on the violation, we may remove or hide content, limit an account's ability to post, temporarily suspend an account, or permanently terminate it. Severe violations (threats, hate speech, sexual content involving minors, doxxing, ban evasion) result in immediate termination. We may also preserve content and share it with law enforcement when required by law or when we believe there is a risk to someone's safety. Decisions are ours to make; if you think we got one wrong, email support@flyoversportsapp.com and we'll take a second look.
5. A note on what you see in the app
Posts in Team Threads are written by fans, not by Flyover Sports. They reflect the opinions of the people who post them. The news, videos, podcasts, and social posts in your feeds are created and owned by their original publishers and creators and are shown with attribution — we don't write, edit, or claim them.
6. Changes
We may update these Guidelines as the community grows. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
